Official Site: See The Interview
After Sony pulled The Interview from theaters about a week ago, they have reverted their decision. The film will be releasing in limited theaters and might see a VOD debut as well on Christmas Day. Sony released an official statement, claiming that they “have never given up on releasing The Interview”. Alright then. Let’s pretend you didn’t. The full statement below.
Michael Lynton, Chairman and CEO of Sony Entertainment:
We have never given up on releasing The Interview and we’re excited our movie will be in a number of theaters on Christmas Day. At the same time, we are continuing our efforts to secure more platforms and more theaters so that this movie reaches the largest possible audience.
I want to thank our talent on The Interview and our employees, who have worked tirelessly through the many challenges we have all faced over the last month. While we hope this is only the first step of the film’s release, we are proud to make it available to the public and to have stood up to those who attempted to suppress free speech.
Theaters showing The Interview include Plaza Atlanta and selected Alamo Drafthouse locations. Stars Seth Rogen and James Franco took to Twitter to announce the victory.
The people have spoken! Freedom has prevailed! Sony didn't give up! The Interview will be shown at theaters willing to play it on Xmas day!

Just a day after Fast & Furious 6 director Justin Lin replaced Robert Orci, Paramount Pictures has announced the release date for Star Trek 3. The sequel will be released on July 8, 2016, coinciding with the 50th Anniversary of the TV series. Robert Orci will continue to produce the film, however, his script, which was a joint work with writers John D. Payne and Patrick McKay, has since then been scrapped by the studio. Director of the previous two films, J.J. Abrams, will return as producer through his Bad Robot company. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoë Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, and John Cho are expected to return to reprise their roles.
